Excellent for all Journey Fans - This two disk set has almost all of the Journey songs you are looking for. There s no reason to pick and choose at iTunes when you can get them all on this disk for such a low price.
Should be titled The Almost Essential Journey - 4 stars given because there are actually a ton of hit included on this compilation. Disc 1 is very nearly perfect and I have no complaints with it but disc 2 has me scratching my head. A few songs are included for no good reason and some other, more popular and essential songs were left out. Again, for no good reason.This set is not a bad deal for the price and isn t even a bad deal for disc 1 alone at the price. Still, it s hard to call something essential when it s missed the true essence.
As Pop-Rock not bad - Do yourself a favor. If you want to hear some great Journey, get their first three recordings. This is when Journey was at their best. This post Perry stuff, I ll admit is OK. They are catchy tunes if your into that light weight girly pop stuff.
Take A Journey Through Time - I love Journey since Steve Perry joined them and no other singer can EVER take that mans place. NONE! His amazing vocals and stage savvy will never be forgotten. He did an amazing job on the Essential CD. Only wish for Steve to return someday and grace the microphone again. We all miss him and wish him well, but it would be a wonderful thing if he were to return.
dont understand disc 1. - so I ordered this 2 disc set and by all account it is very good classic and not so classic Journey. Here s my 1 and only major beef. Is it me or is disk 1 simply a copy of greatest hits? Now disk 2 I am very impressed with. The mixture is simply outstanding. And I am looking for someone who might have information on whether or not there are any other Journey DVD s out there. I have purchased the live in Houston, and the greatest hits sets. Extremely happy with both, but would like to find 1. more concert footage and 2. possibly a dvd set of more of their videos.
